2012 Sweet Soca songs to be rejudged

	The NCF has announced that due to a "glitch in the matrix" which saw 6 songs not being judged for the Sweet Soca semi-finals, Edwin being announced as the 17 semi-finalist (which he politely declined), the songs will have to be rejudged.

2012 Sweet Soca Semi-Finalists

	The NCF has announced the 16 semi-finalists for the Sweet Soca Competition chosen from 94 entries. The semifinal will take place on Friday, July 6th at Pork Lime at the LIME Sports Club in Wildey. The finalists will then meet Red Plastic Bag during the Finals which will take place at the MQI /98.1 the One Soca Royale event on July 29th at Bushy Park. The semi-finalists are as follows:

RPB takes the Sweet Soca

	RPB takes the Sweet Soca competition with his infectious "Once apon a wine". Scoring 454 points RPB added yet another trophy to his collection ahead of Biggie Irie with "This ting cyan be ova" who scored 423 points and Edwin Yearwood with 416 points.

The Big Show first to face the judges

	On Wednesday, April 20, Tent managers drew for judging dates for the upcoming Crop Over Calypso season and first to face the judges will be the Big Show. This year twelve tents have registered with the National Cultural Foundation to participate in the Pic-O-De Crop and Party Monarch Competitions. The number includes the Tornadoes and Celebrity Tents which make their return after a short hiatus. Judging in the tents begins on Thursday, June 30.

	According to Nationnews.com, "DE BIG SHOW will lead the charge with five calypsonians in next Friday’s Lime/Banks Pic-O-De-Crop semi-finals at the gymnasium of the Garfield Sobers Sports Complex. In the Mount Gay/LIME Party Monarch finals, Headliners and De Big Show matched each other with three finalists each out of the nine who will challenge defending monarch Khiomal on Sunday July 26th at the Farley Hill National Park."
