Adrian "Boo" Husbands replaced as head of Party Monarch Band
Cropover NewsAs the National Cultural Foundation prepares to host the islands' largest cultural event, Crop-Over, some more changes have been announced. Leader of the Party Monarch Band, Adrian "Boo" Husbands is to be replaced by Ricky Brathwaite. Mr. Brathwaite is a veteran trumpeter and is a former entertainment manager at Almond Beach Resorts.

Cavalcades under management of independent company
Cropover NewsThis year's Crop-Over Cavalcades will be run by an independent company operated by well known entertainer Peter Boyce. Supreme Events, will be responsible for the 11 Cavalcades which will commence on May 9th.

RSS content can be read using software called an "RSS reader", "feed reader" or an "aggregator". Ian Estwick has been replaced!
Cropover NewsIan Estwick who was the chairman of the National Cultural Foundation (NCF) from 1994 to 1997 and was then apponited as CEO in 2003 is no longer employed with the Foundation.

Recent rumours had suggested that he would be terminated from the post but it was made official last Friday.

Changes for Crop-Over 2008
Cropover NewsThe commitee that was established by the BLP administration to run the affairs of Crop-Over will join forces with the NCF to produce this year's event. This was announced at a press conference yesterday by Minister of Culture, Mr. Steve Blackett.

Congratulations again Rihanna
Calypsonians.com wishes to once again extend our hearty congratulations to Rihanna who has been designated as a honorary Youth and Cultural Ambassador. Barbadians turned out on large numbers both at the Grantley Adams Airport and at a concert given in her honour last evening to celebrate the songstress who recently received a Grammy award for her hit song "Umbrella".

Cropover News The new Minister of Culture Steve Blackett has said that this year’s festival will be run by the committee that had been appointed by former Prime Minister and Minister of Culture Owen Arthur according to the Friday Nation.
